On 06/08/15 at approximately 3:45 PM, the Township of Hamilton Police Department responded to the Black Horse Pike near Gale Ave. for a report of a motor vehicle crash with entrapment. Investigation revealed that a 2015 Toyota Sequoia being driven by Theresa Champion-May, age 53 of Hammonton was traveling west on the Black Horse Pike. A 2002 Saturn SL being driven by Fabian Martinez, age 41 of Bridgeton attempted to make a left turn from the parking lot of a nearby business in the path of Champion’s vehicle. Champion subsequently struck the driver side of Martinez’s vehicle with the front of her car and both vehicles exited the eastbound shoulder. Martinez was extricated by members of the Mays Landing Fire Department and transported to AtlantiCare-City Division for treatment. Champion was transported to AtlantiCare-Hammonton for treatment of non-life threatening injuries. Also assisting at the scene was the Township of Hamilton Rescue Squad, and AtlantiCare Paramedics.
