On 06/29/12 at 1349 hrs a motor vehicle accident occurred on Rt 322 and mile post 45. A vehicle driven by Francine Gilbert age 77 of Delray Beach Florida left the roadway while traveling eastbound. The vehicle struck a mailbox then continued to travel east striking a telphone pole on the passenger side of the vehicle. The front passenger, Sidney Silverman age 84 of Delray Beach Florida sustained injuries and was transported to Atlantic Care Mainland division. Francine Gilbert was not injured. No other occupants were in the vehicle. The accident is being investigated by Ofc. Arthur Train
On 06-26-12 at approximately 1905 hours the Township of Hamilton Police Department responded to Rt. 50 at milepost 19.5 for a motor vehicle crash. Investigation revealed that a white Subaru Outback traveling north on Rt. 50, which was being driven by Robert K. Fidler, 94 years of age of Dorothy, attempted to make a left turn into the VFW parking lot. Upon doing so, he struck a Harley Davidson motorcycle which was being driven by Clifford Rosegren, age 60, of Estell Manor who was traveling south on Rt. 50. Rosegren's motorcycle then struck a Harley Davidson motorcycle also traveling southbound which was being driven by Jason Rosegren, age 31, of Hamilton Township. The driver's of both motorcycles were thrown from their vehicles upon impact.

On Monday June 25th 2012 at approximately 8:40 pm, the Township of Hamilton Police Department responded to the 3400 block of Woodland Drive for the report of a suspicious vehicle. Ofc. Jacobi located the driver, Brett C. Linn (25) of Richland, passed out behind the wheel of an Infinity M35X. Further investigation revealed Linn was in possession of crack cocaine, heroin, marijuana, hypodermic needles, and other drug paraphernalia. Linn was taken into custody and charged with several drug offenses. He was later released pending court.
On June 24 at approximately 630 pm, the Township of Hamilton Police Department responded to two separate structure fires in the Mizpah section of the township. An unoccupied residence on Albany Ave and an unoccupied residence on New Orleans Ave were found burning.
During the investigation, two juvenile males from Hamilton Township were identified as suspects. They were interviewed and charged with two counts of Arson (2nd degree), two counts of criminal mischief (3rd degree) and two counts of conspiracy (3rd degree). The juveniles were lodged in Harborfields.
Assisting with extinguishing the fires were the Mizpah and Weymouth Volunteer Fire Departments. No injuries were reported.
Earlier, a Silver Alert had been broadcast for Donald Harris of Mays Landing who had been missing since 9am. Mr. Harris was located early this evening by a neighbor near his residence. Mr. Harris was found to be fine medically, and advised he had been utilizing public transportation earlier in the day, but is not sure where he was. Thank you to all who helped in trying to locate Mr. Harris. Due to the efforts and attention of the public, he is home and safe.
On 06/14/2012 at approximately 1200 hours a motor vehicle driven by Lenice Martinez, 33 years of age from Mays Landing, was stopped by Officer McCarthy and Sergeant Muller in this jurisdiction. During an investigation Martinez's vehicle was searched and officers recovered approximately 60 grams (2 ounces) of cocaine. Martinez was arrested and charged with possession of cocaine as well as possession of cocaine with the intent to distribute. She was released pending court.

On Thursday, 06/14/2012 at approximately 1817 hours, The Township of Hamilton Police Department responded to the intersection of Leipzig Ave. and Lombard Street for a motor vehicle crash involving two vehicles.

On June 12, 2012, at approximately 1:46 pm, Township of Hamilton Police responded to Rt. 40, just west of Hoover Drive, for a report of a motor vehicle crash. Also responding was Township of Hamilton Rescue and Atlanticare Medics.
Wanda Pellot, age 34, of Brooklyn, NY, was traveling west on Rt. 40 when her vehicle drifted off the right side of the roadway and struck a utility pole.
Pellot was transported to Atlantic Regional Medical Center-Mainland for her injuries. Pellot was issued a summons for careless driving.
Traffic was delayed for approximately thirty minutes.
On 6/8/12 @ approximately 2:00 pm the Township of Hamilton Police responded to the Weymouth section for a report of a barn on fire. First on scene was the NJ State Forest Fire and Weymouth Fire Company. They quickly controlled the fire and saved the structure. Also responding to the scene was Mays Landing Fire Company, Mizpah Fire Company and the Township of Hamilton Rescue.
The fire does not appear to be suspicous. It is believed to be caused by the hot exhaust from a pickup truck while delivering and unloading 10 bails of hay.
No injuries were reported.
On June 1, 2012, an anonymous caller reported three subjects were in the remains of a residence that had previously burned down in the Cologne section of Hamilton Twp. The caller advised the three were stealing scrap metal from the property. Suspects Thomas Decicco 41, Allen Wright 26, and Richard Gibson Jr. 25, all from Mays Landing, were apprehended by Hamilton Twp. Police patrol units. In addition to the items being taken from the residence, the three were also found to be in possession of cut up guard rails from a roadway. All were charged with theft and the case is still pending further investigation.
