On Sunday, 7/24/11 at 3:48 PM, the Hamilton Twp. Police Department responded to the area of Rt. 559 @ MP 10.9 for a one vehicle crash.
Investigation Revealed: A 2003 Toyota Highlander driven by a 17 year old male from Vineland was traveling North on Rt. 559 when he fell asleep at the wheel and struck a utility pole. The driver and his passenger were both wearing seatbelts and were uninjured. The road was closed for over 8 hours while crews from Atlantic City Electric and Verizon replaced the utility pole.
Egg Harbor Township Police, Mays Landing Rescue Squad, as well as Mays Landing and Laureldale Fire Departments assisted at the scene.
On Thursday, July 21, 2011, at 02:24 Hrs, Twp. of Hamilton Police responded to the area of Rt. 40 near Delilah Road (milepost 53.0) for a pedestrian motor vehicle crash.
Investigation revealed that Patrick D. Evans, 19, of Mays Landing NJ, was walking the wrong direction in the westbound lane of Rt 40 and was hit by a 1998 Silver Nissan Altma driven by Anthony D Kirton 21, of Mays Landing NJ.
Evans was treated at the scene by the Twp. of Hamilton Rescue Squad and Medics from AtlantiCare serious injuries. Evans was transported to by Twp of Hamilton Rescue Squad to AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center, Atlantic City Trauma Division.
Kirton was charged with Driving While Intoxicated, Reckless Driving and Careless Driving.

On 07-20-2011 the Hamilton Township Police Department received a report of a sexual assault which occurred at approximately 1230 hours. The victim reported the suspect, George Ingram 3rd (42/M) of Egg Harbor Township, forced entry into her home and sexually assaulted her. Ingram was located the following day, in the sand wash off Somers Point/Mays Landing Road, less than a mile from where the assault occurred. Ingram was charged with Aggravated Sexual Assault (1st degree), Aggravated Assault (2nd degree), Burglary (2nd degree) and Criminal Restraint (3rd degree). Ingram was lodged in the Atlantic County Justice Facility on $75,000/full bail.
This is an isolated incident.
On Monday July 18th, 2011, at 1231 hours, Twp. of Hamilton Police responded to the area of Rt. 40 near Delilah Road (milepost 53.0) for a motor vehicle crash involving four vehicles and a tractor trailer.
Investigation revealed that Melvin Fourney, Jr., age 45 of Chester, South Carolina, was traveling west on Rt. 40 when he lost control of his vehicle, a tractor trailer, and collided with a Mitsubishi van, driven by David Birks, of Egg Harbor Twp. The Mitsubishi was pushed under the rear end of a Chevy Silverado pick up, driven by Felice Panzini, of Cape May Court House, NJ. The Chevy was then pushed into a Ford mini van, driven by Stephen Lowe, of Delmar, DE, and the Ford was pushed into a four door Hyundia, driven by Terence St. Clair, of Lanoka Harbor, NJ.
Rt 40 West was reduced to one lane of traffic until all five vehicles were towed from the scene due to major damage. Hamilton Twp Rescue arrived on scene and treated the patients, then transported them to the Mainland hosp ...

On 7-17-2011, the Township of Hamilton Police Department responded to 178 Ardmore Ct, Misty Pines, to serve a court order and arrest warrant on Stanley Frizzell. During this time, it was discovered that Frizzell was growing marijuana plants in his back yard. A total of nine marijuana plants of up to 4.5 feet in height were found growing along side tomato plants. Frizzell was arrested and placed in the Atlantic County Justice Facility on $10,000 cash bail for cultivating marijuana and $25,000 cash bail on unrelated charges.

On 07-17-2011 at approximately 4:00 am, Officers from the Hamilton Township Police Department responded to the LukOil gas station located at 6068 Harding Highway for an activated alarm. Upon arrival police found a burglary had occurred, however the suspect was no longer on location.
A witness provided a description of a possible suspect, who they observed riding on a bicycle in the area of the LukOil around the time of the incident. The suspect, later identified as Stanley Frizzell (49/M) of Mays Landing, was located by police a short time later near the Wawa at the intersection of Harding Highway and CR606. Mr. Frizzell was detained and, as a result of the investigation, later charged with burglary and criminal mischief. He was released on a summons.
On July 14th, 2011 at approximately 1200 hours, the Township of Hamilton Police Department responded to the area of Farragut Ave. between Main St. and Second St. for a report of a gas leak.
It was determined that while attempting to dig a hole at a nearby building, a construction company punctured a gas line, causing a large gas leak. With assistance from the Mays Landing Fire Department, approximately one hundred employees and residents were evacuated from adjacent buildings. Traffic was shut down on Farragut Ave. for approximately thirty minutes until South Jersey Gas contained the leak. No one was treated as a result of the leak.

On July 13th, at approximately 2:14 pm, the Twp. of Hamilton Police Department responded to Wrangleboro Road, in the area of Leah Lane, for a two car motor vehicle crash.
The investigation revealed that a Twp. of Hamilton Ambulance, transporting a resident to the hospital, stopped at Leah Lane with its emergency light on, to make a left onto Wrangleboro Road. A silver Nissan Altima , driven by Gail Caputo (age 65 from Folsom) traveling South on Wrangleboro, stopped as required by law, to let the Ambulance pull onto Wrangleboro Road. A white Toyota Corolla, driven by Makeva Rivera (age 24 from Mays Landing) struck the rear of the Nissan Altima.
The Twp. of Hamilton Rescue Squad responded to the scene and transported both drivers to the hospital for non life threatening injuries. Rivera was issued several summonses to include failing to stop for an emergency vehicle.
On Thursday, July 7th, 2011, at 0842 hours, Twp. of Hamilton Police responded to Rt. 40 near Mays Landing Plaza (milepost 45.7) for a motor vehicle crash involving a vehicle into the woods.
Investigation revealed that Ryan Stant, age 19 of Bridgeton, was on the eastbound shoulder attempting to merge into traffic with his 1996 Honda Accord. Rebecca Armstrong, 64 of Minotola, was also traveling eastbound on Rt. 40 in her 1997 Chevy Malibu. While attempting to merge into traffic, Stant's vehicle struck Armstrong's vehicle, sending it into a partial spin off the eastbound shoulder. Armstrong's vehicle came to rest partially into the wooded area alongside Rt. 40. Armstrong was unable to exit her vehicle and was extracted using the jaws of life with assistance from the Twp. of Hamilton Rescue Squad and Mays Landing Fire Co.
Armstrong was transported to Atlanticare Regional Medical Center Mainland Division by Twp. of Hamilton Rescue for minor injuries. Stant and his passenger, John Sh ...
