On June 12, 2012, at approximately 1:46 pm, Township of Hamilton Police responded to Rt. 40, just west of Hoover Drive, for a report of a motor vehicle crash. Also responding was Township of Hamilton Rescue and Atlanticare Medics.

 Wanda Pellot, age 34, of Brooklyn, NY, was traveling west on Rt. 40 when her vehicle drifted off the right side of the roadway and struck a utility pole.

 Pellot was transported to Atlantic Regional Medical Center-Mainland for her injuries. Pellot was issued a summons for careless driving.

 Traffic was delayed for approximately thirty minutes.
