APPLICANTS MUST BE A TOWNSHIP OF HAMILTON RESIDENT.

 Instructions and fees:

 1.  Copy of drivers license.

Your license must match your current address before receiving permits. Otherwise, additional proof of residency is required; tax bill, utility bill etc.

2.  Two references are needed for an Initial Application and/or a Handgun Permit.

They cannot be relatives or someone living in your household. DO NOT use your employer as a reference. You must have known your references for a minimum of three (3) years.

3. Fingerprinting.

The Township of Hamilton Police Department DOES NOT fingerprint for firearms.

You will need to schedule an appointment with a Sagem Morpho office after receiving a case number from Hamilton Township Police Department. This is Sagem Morpho's policy.  A case number may be obtained IN PERSON from the Hamilton Township Police Department's Records Bureau during their normal hours of operation.  

4. Firearm Fees:

In addition to the fingerprint fee or SBI Name Check fee you will need the following.

a.  $5.00 for Firearms ID card

b.  $2.00 per Handgun Permit

For a new Firearms ID card and Handgun Permits you will need to submit the following forms:

Purchaser ID card Application form

Mental Health Consent form

For a duplicate ID card you will need to complete the following form in addition to the above Mental Health form:

Duplicate ID card application form

 FORMS MUST BE SUBMITTED IN PERSON TO 

THE TOWNSHIP OF HAMILTON POLICE.
